97th Colorado FFA State Convention
Sargent FFA members attended the 97th Annual Colorado FFA State Convention in Pueblo, CO, at the start of June. Members attended various sessions, participated in workshops, served on delegate committees, competed in a corn hole tournament, supported our Sargent FFA alumni Westen Burkhart, and competed & interviewed in respective categories. Members cheered for Mr. Matt Sinclair, the former advisor of Sangre De Cristo FFA, as he was recognized on stage as a retiring FFA advisor/agricultural education instructor. The members even gave Ms.Schaller a makeover on stage in front of the 2,000+ attendees.
Durae Naranjo did an awesome job representing District IV while giving her prepared speech on the water issues that plague the San Luis Valley. She placed bronze!
Kimmy and Kandace Pargin served as delegates for the chapter and were able to vote in various delegate committee meetings.
Ellaree Rockey received her Colorado FFA State Degree and was recognized as a Colorado Star Farmer Finalist (top 4 in the state)! What an awesome way to finish out your FFA career!
Sargent FFA alum, Westen Burkhart, gave an outstanding retiring address and finished out his service to Colorado FFA as a state Executive Committee Member! Thank you, Westen, for showing Colorado what Sargent graduates can do!We are so proud of all of these members for their service and representation of the Sargent FFA Chapter!
