Read about theĀ memberĀ below!

My name isĀ RylieĀ Harmon. I’m a freshman in the Sargent FFA chapter. My family owns and raises Simmental Angus cattle in the San Luis Valley. In my free time, I enjoy playing basketball and volleyball, and I also show my 4-H steers year-round. In October 2025, I applied for the production heifer grant. In November, I was awarded a grant worth $2000. The production heifer grant includes one heifer to be bred and shown at the 2026 Colorado State Fair. After I was awarded the grant, I was able to pick my heifer out of an outstanding group of heifers that all came from Russel Ag. I brought my heifer home almost immediately after the National Western Stock Show, where I met my sponsor from theĀ BottcherĀ Foundation.Ā  Upon bringing her home, I named her Dolly. She weighs about 610 pounds now. Dolly has been to her first show in Calahan, Colorado. Dolly has put on 100 pounds roughly since I brought her home. Since she needs to be bred at the time of the show at the Colorado State Fair, I plan to AI her to a show bull. At the moment I plan to AI her to Kung Fu Panda. We are planning to AI her in May 2026, so she will have a baby in March 2027. I am so blessed for the opportunity to expand my herd and meet some amazing people along the way!
